Is it possible for someone to get his/her facts so wrong on the Adelaide Crows training methods?
A YA a member asked a question stating Neil Craig trained his players in 40 degree heat which is incorrect.
Fact 1: Neil Craig was not in charge of Crows training Thursday. He was interstate all week observing the Kookaburra’s training. For those who don’t know who the Kookaburra’s are they are our national men’s hockey team.
Fact 2: When the Crows trained Thursday it was in the morning before the temperature reached 40 degrees.
Fact 3: The Crows didn’t train for as long as they normally would have.
Fact 4: The players being the professionals they drank plenty of fluids leading up to Thursday.
Fact 5: The club had ice vests and other equipment on hand for the players.
Fact 6: They had regular breaks to replenish lost fluid.
Fact 7: Only one player was affected by the heat. The reason the player didn’t cope with the heat is that he had a viral infection and chose to train instead of resting.
Fact 8: There was fully trained medical officers at training in case player had difficulty with the heat.
so is Craig the coach
he would have the final say!

Knowing the level of professionalism exercised in the coaching and team management depts of all AFL clubs, the intensity and constant monitoring, the attention to risk reduction or elimination process to protect the club investment in players, the media report I read came over as a typical beat-up story on a quiet day to fill a gap on the back page. As a general comment, seems all club publicity staff must be on leave except for the Brisbane logo & guernsey releases judging by the club related questions here lately ! The question was an attempt at cheap point-scoring in the Crows

Yes- we know that.Our boys are as tough as nails and will win the flag very soon if not 2010.
When we played fremantle in march this year it was 36 deg. at Subi and it was our fitness which prevailed that day. Freo just fried, frizzled then fizzled. It was a rare, raw, and awesome win away and i was right there as usual to witness it. Next year will bring much more. SOON VERY SOON> WE are coming to get that flag. AND WE WILL BE A WINNER FOR SURE>
